Dr. Stern attended both undergraduate and medical school at the State University of New York. His Residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics was at the John Hopkins Hospital and his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology was at the University of Southern California. Prior to joining the Women's Cancer Center, Dr. Stern was Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. He is an expert in all areas of gynecologic oncology and has an interest in pre-malignant and malignant tumors of the vulva, vagina, and cervix. He has authored numerous scientific publications and is highly regarded for his skills as an educator, as well as a clinician. .
