Dr. Hogan earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Franklin and Marshall College. After graduating from Baylor College of medicine with Honors in 1973, he completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received the John P. Emich, Jr., M.D. award for outstanding performance as a resident.

In 1985, Dr.Hogan was named Chief of Gynecologic Oncology at both the Lankenau Hospital and Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Hogan served in numerous academic appointments at prestigious Schools of Medicine, is active in clinical research and has authored over seventy original publications in the area of Gynecologic Oncology.
