Surgery

If an operation is indicated, your physician will discuss the procedure in detail with you, and, if you wish, with your family. Following surgery, while hospitalized in Northern California or Nevada, you may be seen by one or more of our physicians. Our inpatient rounds are scheduled according to staff availability to ensure you receive 24-hour service during this critical time. Your surgeon will usually be by to see you, but, in some cases, a scheduling conflict makes this impossible. Nevertheless, your surgeon will be apprised of your status daily, and you or your family should feel free to contact him or her if you have questions.

Generally speaking, you will need a few weeks to recover prior to undergoing any additional therapy (if needed). At this point, your pathology and other pertinent test results will be available. You will then have the opprtunity to completely discuss your situation and explore any further treatment or surveillance options with your doctor.
